Puja Patel, OD
Meet Dr. Puja Patel, a dedicated optometrist whose passion for her craft is evident in every patient encounter. Dr. Patel earned her bachelor's degree in Mathematical Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University. She obtained her doctorate degree from State University of New York College of Optometry in New York City. Her commitment to excellence led her to complete her residency training in Ocular Disease and Low Vision at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care System (SAVAHCS) in Tucson.
Falling in love with the vibrant community of Tucson and its surrounding areas during her residency, Dr. Patel made the heartfelt decision to make it her home. With a focus on making each patient's vision a top priority, Dr. Patel brings a wealth of knowledge and a compassionate touch to Mindful Eyecare. Her dedication to providing exceptional eye care is a testament to her love for the profession and the community she serves.
Outside the exam room, Dr. Puja Patel finds joy in the great outdoors, often navigating scenic trails with her loyal canine companion. Alongside her husband, she cherishes moments of exploration and connection with nature. A passionate advocate for a plant-based lifestyle, Dr. Patel delights in discovering new vegan culinary gems in town and brings that enthusiasm home, where her kitchen becomes a canvas for experimenting with diverse cuisines. Her love for vibrant living extends beyond eye care, reflecting the same mindfulness and appreciation for variety that defines her professional approach.

Johnson Co, OD
Dr. Johnson Co is excited to be taking care of your visual needs at Mindful Eyecare. He is eager to provide high quality eye care, and take the time to answer any questions you might have about your vision and ocular health.
Dr. Co received his undergraduate degree in Sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, and completed his Doctorate degree in Optometry from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, California. He has diversified his ocular disease training throughout the country by traveling to his clinical rotations in Connecticut, Florida, Arizona, and Kansas. Afterwards he completed his Ocular Disease Residency Training at the Southern Arizona Veterans Affairs Health Care Systems (SAVAHCS) in Tucson, Arizona.
During his free time, he enjoys learning about the new excellent places to eat around the neighborhood, exercising at the YMCA, and enjoys playing board games. Presently he is involved with the Southern Arizona Optometric Society (SAOS) and looking for ways to get involved and give back to the community. He looks forward to meeting and learning from you!

Raees Loonat, OD
Dr. Raees Loonat is a native Tucsonan. He obtained his bachelors of science in Physiology at the University of Arizona in 2018. As a new graduate from Southern California College of Optometry he is eager to give back to the community that raised him. In his free time, he enjoys working out at the gym, playing video games, and cooking. He also received LASIK so if you have any questions about the procedure feel free to ask!

Kimberly Duong, OD
Dr. Kimberly Duong received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Neurobiology, Physiology, and Behavior from the University of California, Davis. She then received her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University. After graduating from optometry school, Dr. Duong completed an Ocular Disease and Low Vision residency at the VA Southern Arizona Health Care System where she now utilizes the skills she learned to provide low vision to the visually impaired here in Tucson.
Dr. Duong was born and raised in San Jose, CA and she enjoys a variety of hobbies from reading romance and fantasy novels, vlogging her everyday life and travels, lifting weights, and trying new food. She and her husband recently made Tucson their home and would love any recommendations for beautiful hikes and your favorite restaurants!
